MEMBERSHIP REPORT
KASCOE Convention, September 28-29, 2007

KASCOE membership is consistently hovering around 90%, but that means there are still 10% of our employees who haven’t been sold on KASCOE/NASCOE.  Incredible strides in employee benefits and improvements in working conditions have been made over the last almost 50 years of our organization’s existence.  I know we sometimes take these benefits for granted without realizing it was and is the unified efforts of a few representing many that obtained and continue to keep these benefits for us.  Just a few of the benefits we ALL enjoy are:

¨         Health, Life, Supplemental, and Long Term Care Insurance
¨
Alternate Work Schedules, Family Friendly Leave, and Leave Donation Programs
¨
Annual Cost of Living Pay Adjustments
¨
Cell Phone Discounts and Vacation Discount Coupons

We need everyone to become a KASCOE member now more than ever, just as much as you need KASCOE and NASCOE.  NASCOE acts as a voice in Washington, DC, for every FSA employee.  Both organizations have the respect of decision makers at both the national and state levels of government.  The voice and respect help FSA employees not only with benefits but also with providing input to improve efficiency of programs and procedure, which I’m sure we all agree can be improved upon.

If you know someone who is not a member, please share this report with them.  If you would like to become a member, please contact me or another KASCOE district director.  Dues for regular members are only about $5.00 to $10.00 a month, and allow for benefits to not only be had, but maintained and improved.  And though we may not all agree with decisions made and positions taken by those who represent us, becoming or remaining a member of KASCOE gives you a chance to make a difference in how and why those decisions are made.  And as part of our membership drive, all new members will receive a gift of the latest FSA Employee Cookbook!

Other Membership Notes:

¨         We need associate member email addresses so eNews and other information can be sent to our associate members.  Also, we would like to begin creating a database of regular member home emails for communication purposes.  Please send your email address to kkee@rainbowtel.net

¨         Due to the cost and time involved, we would like to discontinue printing annual membership cards.  This will be put to a membership vote.

¨         Remember, Associate memberships can be granted to ANYONE.  This includes non-COF FSA employees, producers, local ag organizations, government representatives, and ag business leaders.  If you know someone who might be interested, let them know about KASCOE, or send their contact information to Kim Kee.
